## Summary

The London Borough of Newham is seeking to engage with the market through a planned event titled "Independent Living Support Service (Home Care) Market Engagement Event." This initiative falls under the Health and social work services industry category (CPV code: 85000000) and focuses on location-based support within London, United Kingdom. The engagement stage is currently ongoing, with the market event scheduled for 9th September 2024, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm at Old Town Hall, Stratford, London. Key deadlines include registering interest by 17:00 on 4th September 2024. The current stage of the procurement is planning, and feedback gathered from the event will shape the future procurement strategy for the new all-age Independent Living Support Service.

This tender provides a crucial opportunity for businesses involved in home care, specifically those experienced in delivering health and social work services, to influence the development of procurement documents and strategies. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community and social enterprises (VCSEs) are encouraged to participate, making it a valuable chance for organisations to position themselves as preferred providers for future contracts. Engaging in this pre-procurement event can help businesses understand market demands, network with key stakeholders and align their services with the forthcoming requirements, thereby fostering potential growth and success in the public procurement market.

## Notice

The Council has a legal responsibility to assess the needs of any resident or Carer living in the borough who appears to have a need for care and support; and to then determine whether those needs are eligible for this provision from the Council, as stipulated in The Care Act (2014) and The Children and Families Act (2014). Home Care is one of the main care and support options provided to meet eligible needs - to enable residents to maintain their independence and quality of life in their own home. The Council has recently embarked on an ambitious programme of work to transform its Home Care offer; and wishes to work with the local market to develop its thinking prior to procuring a new all-age Independent Living Support Service. Commissioners will be holding a market engagement event for providers to share their thinking; and obtain providers' views. This feedback will be used to shape the procurement strategy and creation of the procurement documentation. The event is open to any providers with relevant experience. It will be held on 9th September 2024 from 9:00pm - 4:00pm at Old Town Hall, 29 The Broadway, Stratford, London E15 4BQ To participate, you must express your interest to attend by submitting the name of your organisation and delegate names with email addresses Selma.Ghouse@newham.gov.uk Please note that attendance is limited to two people from each organisation. Providers must register their interest no later than 17:00 4th September 2024. This stage of the project is not part of a formal procurement process and the Authority is not committing, at this stage, to carrying out such a process. Participation or non-participation in the pre-procurement market engagement process shall not prevent any provider participating in a potential future procurement, nor is it intended that any information supplied as part of the pre-procurement process shall place any provider at an advantage in a potential procurement process. Participation in the pre-procurement market engagement procurement process will be at each provider's own cost. No expense in responding to this process will be reimbursed by the Authority. This is not a call for competition.
