## Summary

The Police and Crime Commissioner for Cleveland is conducting a procurement process for a Serious Violence Strategic Needs Assessment within the services sector, specifically focusing on consultancy related to law, marketing, and public health initiatives. The tender process is now at the award stage, having concluded on 15th July 2022, with an awarded contract valued at £140,000 to Crest Advisory. The implementation of the contract is set to commence on 1st August 2022 and will run until 31st July 2024, covering locations across the United Kingdom and beyond.

This tender presents a notable opportunity for businesses engaged in consultancy services, particularly those that specialise in public health, violence reduction, and community engagement strategies. Small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) with relevant expertise could significantly benefit from this contract by collaborating with the PCC to address the local drivers of serious violence in Cleveland. Firms that can offer innovative solutions and insights into the social dynamics affecting violence and community safety will be well-positioned to compete for similar future contracts.

## Notice

Full Description In Cleveland, the Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) is responsible for leading and co-ordinating the local response to serious violence through the establishment of a Violence Reduction Unit (VRU). Funded by the Home Office, Cleveland's Unit for the Reduction of Violence (CURV) is responsible for delivering a 'whole system', public health approach to tackling violence, bringing together key partners to identify the local drivers and root-causes of serious violence and agree and implement a multi-agency response to them. In order to understand the types, distribution and extent of violence across Cleveland, including the identification of cohorts, communities and associated risk factors that increase vulnerability to being or becoming victims or perpetrators of violence, the PCC wishes to commission the development of a Serious Violence Strategic Needs Assessment.
