The inspections will check the roadworthiness of the Contractors vehicles under the Council's Transport Framework, in line with the guidelines laid down by the Driving Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) Driving Vehicle Standards Agency Guidelines and the core specification of the Transport Framework. Vehicles to be inspected include PS Vehicles, Minibuses and Tail-hoist Vehicles, the latter for the conveyance of children in wheelchairs. The person the Council is seeking must be technically competent and operationally aware of the safety standards that apply to the vehicles they examine. The contract will be for a period of 12 months, commencing 1st November 2016 until 31st October 2017, with an option to extend for a further 12 months based on the requirement of the service and supplier performance.
