## Summary

The Education and Training Foundation is initiating a tender titled "Teach Too Phase 4 Strand 2 - Local Projects," which focuses on enhancing technical education through collaboration between industry and educational providers. This tender, classified under the CPV code for adult and other education services, is active and will close on 10 October 2017. It includes projects across various regions in the United Kingdom such as the North East, Yorkshire and the Humber, and London, with a contract value of £30,000. The contract period is set to commence on 25 October 2017 and conclude by 30 March 2018, adopting an open procurement method to encourage broad participation.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses within the education and training sector, particularly those specialising in collaborative education programs or vocational training. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) would be particularly well-suited to compete, as the project seeks to implement Teach Too principles in local areas and foster partnerships between educators and industry leaders. Engaging with this initiative could enable businesses to expand their influence in the education market while contributing to the successful reform of technical education.

## Notice

The work continues to build on the Teach Too development programme which started in 2014-15. The aim of Teach Too is to encourage people from industry to spend some of their time sharing their knowledge and experience with learners by teaching them about their work in a provider or workplace setting and/or contributing to curriculum development. Teach Too also promotes the practice of teachers and trainers updating their industry experience by spending time in the workplace, and helps to build the 'two-way street' - genuinely collaborative arrangements between employers and providers. More details about the Teach Too development programme are attached at Appendix D. The reforms of technical education underline the importance of this type of activity, as implementation of the reforms will only be successful if effective collaborative arrangements between providers and industry are in place. The first delivery of technical routes is planned for September 2020 and this work will help to facilitate the development of collaborative arrangements, to ensure this deadline can be met. The work outlined in this ITT is to: - Work with a number of local areas to pilot approaches to embedding Teach Too principles and embedding effective activities. Further work to share the effective practice identified in previous phases of Teach Too to help participants to improve their own practice has been commissioned separately. There are parallels and potential links between the two projects which will need to be maximised throughout the course of the project.
