## Summary

The Department for Business and Trade (DBT), headquartered at the Old Admiralty Building in London, has completed the procurement process for the "King's Award Online Application Service," classified under the industry-specific software package category. This service supports the submission and management of applications for the King's Awards for Enterprise, involving external assessment and awarding of certificates. The tender, conducted using a selective procurement method via a call-off from a framework agreement, went through its award stage as of 16th April 2025. The contract, valued at £171,908, is scheduled from 1st May 2025 until 1st May 2026, covering geographical areas including the UK and other selected international locations.

This tender represents a substantial business growth opportunity, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the software services sector, such as the current supplier, Bit Zesty. Businesses adept in supporting and maintaining digital application services can leverage this contract to expand their portfolios and benefit from the prestige of being associated with a nationally significant awards programme. This project allows SMEs to demonstrate their capability in delivering complex digital services on a high-profile stage, potentially opening the door to further governmental or high-profile private-sector contracts.

## Notice

The Kings Award application and assessment system is a Live Beta service formerly developed and built by the current contractor Bit Zesty and managed in fBEIS. The service enables applicants to submit applications which are subsequently managed through a process that goes through external assessment, shortlisting and judging and eventually physical awards (Royal Grants of Appointment Certificates) for the successful applicants. Following MOG, the fBeis Top 75 service now sits within DBT. The King's Awards for Enterprise Office require support & maintenance for their digital service.
