## Summary

The University of Sheffield is conducting a procurement process for a pulsed UV laser system as part of a tender on behalf of its Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering. This tender, classified under the CPV code 31710000 for electronic equipment, has an estimated value of £500,000 and is located in Sheffield, Yorkshire and the Humber. The tender was published on 13th June 2017, and the submission deadline was set for 4th July 2017. The procurement follows an open procedure methodology and is currently in the award stage, with the awarded contract notice dated 13th July 2017.

This opportunity is particularly suited for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) capable of providing advanced laser technology solutions. Suppliers with expertise in laser systems, particularly those offering lamp or diode pumped Nd/YAG and excimer lasers, stand to benefit. The procurement presents an avenue for businesses to engage in cutting-edge applications within the semiconductor industry, leveraging the specifications outlined by the University of Sheffield to position themselves competitively in this specialised sector.

## Notice

The University of Sheffield is out to tender on behalf of the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering for components which seek to perform in-situ laser lithography inside a semiconductor reactor. This tender is for a pulsed UV visible laser system to perform the interference lithography. The primary wavelength should be between 300 and 400nm, the pulse width in the 0.5-10ns regime, the pulse energy a minimum of 200mJ and the pulse frequency in the 10 to 25Hz range. Beam quality, stability and divergence are critical aspects for our application and are detailed below in our minimum requirements The University believes the specification may be met using two technologies. However we are open to all options (i) Lamp or diode pumped frequency multiplier Nd/YAG laser (ii) Excimer laser Additional information: All tender documents, correspondence & tender returns must be downloaded & conducted through the In-tend site referred to above.
