Once the contract is underway, the Authority reserves the right to add up to two further properties/shared houses to those being managed by the contractor. The Authority will need to sublease the selected shared houses rather than merely engage the contractor under a contract for services. This is to enable the residents to claim enhanced housing benefit which can then be paid to the contractor/residents' immediate landlord to recompense them for the additional services provided. The contractor will pay the balance of the housing benefit/rental from the residents to the Authority, which will be paid in turn to the head landlord/accommodation owner.
