This contract covers maritime maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services for Royal Naval Platforms, focusing specifically on Electrical, Power, and Distribution items. This award update indicates the call-off contract, following a mini-competition, commenced on 5 September 2024 and will conclude on 20 February 2025. The process employed was a restricted procedure (above threshold) under the DSPCR 2011 regulations, suitable for SMEs and VCSEs, with Basetek Limited successfully securing the contract.

This tender provides an excellent opportunity for businesses specialising in maritime repair and maintenance, particularly those capable of delivering electrical, power, and distribution services. As the Royal Navy's fleet may fluctuate in size, there is potential for increased demand over the life of the framework. The MOD's commitment to a structured, competitive mini-competition process ensures continuous opportunities for various businesses. Companies, especially SMEs and those able to meet the specialized requirements of naval platform maintenance, will find this an attractive proposition to enter or expand within the defence support sector, offering substantial potential for long-term growth and collaboration with a high-profile government entity.
