## Summary

The University of Bedfordshire is seeking tenders for the "Socio Economic Impact Project," aimed at assessing the economic and social benefits of the University on local and national levels. This project is categorised under research services and is being conducted as a direct procurement through a single tender action below the threshold. The tender period closed on 7th May 2019, with the contract set to commence on 21st May 2019 and conclude on 1st September 2019. The project serves as a pivotal part of the University's Strategic Plan for 2020-2025 and is located in Luton, England.

This opportunity presents a significant avenue for growth, particularly for businesses involved in research services, economic analysis, and consultancy. Companies that can demonstrate a clear capability in both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies may find themselves well-positioned to compete. As the University aims to enhance its visibility and partnerships with business entities, suppliers that can articulate their ability to deliver insights into socio-economic impacts would be particularly attractive to the University as a potential partner.

## Notice

The University of Bedfordshire invites tenders for a mixed study of quantitative and qualitative research to demonstrate the economic and social impact or wider benefit of the University and the local, regional and national economy. In particular this commission will contribute to the University's Policy Work in relation to delivering the National Industry Strategy aims and the overall UK commitment of reaching an R&D spend of 2.4% of GDP. The University believes that the impact case studies submitted to REF2014 revealed the substantial work that we do to bring wider benefits to the economy, society and quality of life in the UK. This exercise, whilst important to the academic community, does not resonate with the wider public as it often focusses on unquantified or long-term benefit. With the planned introduction of the Knowledge Exchange (KE) Framework, the University wishes to benchmark our current activities that have economic impact to provide businesses and other users (and potential users) of our knowledge with information which may increase our visibility as potential university partners. The University is preparing to develop our Strategic Plan for the period 2020-2025; this impact assessment should be conducted with reference to our Strategic Plan 2017-2020 Additional information: Suppliers must register and express an interest in this tender through the University of Bedfordshire's website. All correspondence will be through the University of Bedfordshire's Procurement Website. All contracts resulting from this tender will be against the University's terms and conditions.
