## Summary

The Bristol City Council is seeking to award a contract for the provision of home improvement and adaptation services aimed at enabling vulnerable adults to live independently within their own homes. This procurement falls under the category of repair and maintenance services and is classified as an open procedure with a total contract value of £5,375,804. The tender period is set to conclude on 29th June 2018, with the contract expected to commence on 1st October 2018 and run until 30th September 2021. This initiative is targeted at addressing the needs of an ageing population and individuals with disabilities in the South West of England.

This contract presents significant opportunities for businesses, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) that specialise in housing maintenance and adaptation services. Companies well-versed in providing outcome-focused services that promote health, safety, and independent living for vulnerable adults would be particularly well-suited to compete. Engaging in this procurement process can help such businesses expand their portfolio and make a positive impact in the community by supporting individuals to maintain their homes effectively.

## Notice

Bristol and Bath and North East Somerset have a growing population of older people and people who have adisability or life limiting long term illness. Older people and people with disabilities are likely to be living in theirown homes and are more likely to be on low incomes, affected by fuel poverty and find it more difficult to keeptheir homes in good repair. We want to help people to help themselves and empower them to remain living safe and well. For this reason we want people to remain living independently in their own homes for as long as they are ableto. We understand that having a home that is in a decent state of repair and adapted to suit them and theirfamilies need is essential in sustaining health and wellbeing. BCC and B&NES are commissioning a Home Improvement Agency service. The contract will predominantly deliver a range of outcome focussed housing maintenance and adaptionservices that will enable vulnerable adults to live independently in their own homes for as long as they are safeand able.
