## Summary

The British Library is currently engaged in the planning stage of a tender process for a project titled "000977 Retail EPOS & Stock Management." This initiative aims to develop a new electronic point of sale (EPOS) and stock management system for their retail outlets located in St. Pancras, London. The buying organisation seeks to leverage latest payment technologies and e-commerce solutions, ensuring full PCI compliance. Key dates include an engagement end date of 6 February 2018. The project falls under the category of Point of Sale (POS) software package, and all interested suppliers should refer to the relevant documentation on the British Library's procurement site.

This tender presents substantial growth opportunities for businesses specialising in retail technology, particularly those experienced in integrating traditional retail operations with online shopping platforms. Potential suppliers who can offer scalable, innovative stock management solutions that meet the British Library's requirements will be well-positioned to engage. Businesses with expertise in payment technologies and inventory management processes could particularly benefit from this procurement process, enabling them to expand their influence within the public sector and enhance their portfolios through collaboration with a prestigious institution.

## Notice

The British Library seeks to invest in a new EPOS and stock management system for our award-winning Retail outlets in St. Pancras, fully integrated with our Online Shop with real-time stock updates. All of the latest advancements in payment technologies will be utilised and innovative Retail solutions developed to meet our users' needs, all the while maintaining full PCI compliance. With automated functions such as replenishment ordering and end of day reports, the system will free up time currently spent on manual processes. Accurate, easy to access and meaningful reporting will provide key intelligence to improve stock management and margin performance. We are looking to identify potential suppliers within the sector who are experienced in combining traditional Retail with e-commerce and who may be able to provide a scalable stock management system which has the potential for use by other departments at a later date. We wish to begin a dialogue with potential providers to help us understand the possibilities within the sector.
