## Notice

Cumbria County Council are procuring an Independent Visiting Service for Children Looked After. Independent Visitors are adult volunteers who provide independent, one to one support to children aged 5-18 who are looked after by Cumbria County Council. Children and young people who are in care often experience a lot of disruption in their lives. An Independent Visitor is there to visit, advise and befriend a child/young person, offering them consistency, support and encouragement throughout the time they are in care and often beyond this time. All visitors participating in the scheme take part on a voluntary basis. Some children requiring this service will be living in placements outside the county of Cumbria.
