## Summary

The University of Sheffield has awarded a contract for the construction of two new waste solvent stores under the project title "North Campus and Hicks Solvent Stores". The procurement process, which followed a one-stage open tender method, falls under the industry category "Prefabricated Buildings" and involves major construction and restructuring work on university buildings. The awarded contract, valued at £124,661.71, was marked as complete on 11 October 2024. The project includes installing an external prefabricated unit at the Kroto Research Institute on North Campus and forming an internal storage room within the existing C33 storeroom in the Hicks building. The contract term spans from 20 September 2024 to 10 December 2024, and the primary procurement stage now stands as 'Award.' Key dates include the end of the tender period on 30 August 2024 and the award date on 10 October 2024.

This tender presents significant growth opportunities for businesses involved in construction, particularly those specialising in prefabricated buildings and university infrastructure. SMEs and VCSEs are particularly encouraged to participate as the University has indicated suitability for these types of organisations. The project’s duration and extensive scope offer substantial potential for reputable businesses in construction and restructuring work to showcase their capabilities, establish a strong partnership with a leading educational institution, and benefit from long-term contracts spanning up to seven years. Engaging in this procurement process can provide pivotal exposure and the chance to secure future contracts within the educational sector and beyond.
