## Summary

The Energy Systems Catapult (ESC) is seeking bids for the ITES Stakeholder Mapping Clean Technology project. This procurement falls under the business services category and has a value of £25,000. The tender deadline is on January 5, 2024, with a contract period starting on January 15, 2024, and ending on March 15, 2024. ESC, based in Birmingham, England, is the buying organisation for this open procedure tender.

This tender presents an opportunity for UK SMEs involved in clean technology sectors such as EV charge points, energy management systems, hydrogen innovations, energy storage technologies, and battery management systems. Given the focus on sustainable transport issues and innovation collaborations between the UK and India, businesses with expertise in these areas would be well-suited to compete for this tender and explore potential growth opportunities in the Net Zero space.

## Notice

Project background The Energy Systems Catapult (ESC), together with partners in India, including the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), has created the Innovating for Transport and Energy Systems (ITES) initiative. ITES is a bilateral collaboration to address key challenges around the decarbonisation of transport by carrying out joint research into specific sustainable transport issues and enabling the piloting, support and scale up of new sustainable solutions. It: * engages with and supports industry in developing solutions for hard to decarbonise parts of the transport system collaboratively or linking them to innovators * considers the whole systems aspects around transport challenges, from consumer acceptance to supporting infrastructure and impact on the energy generation system * looks to link leading Indian and UK research organisations, builds on success of the Innovating for Clean Air (IfCA) programme and provides a springboard for UK and Indian innovators/start-ups to trial their solutions in a low-risk environment * offers innovators access to technical skills and expertise to support them bringing their products to market, as well as potentially facilities, in the longer-term * looks to attract public, private and third sector partners and sponsors to ensure activities are market-led and solving practical problems and to decrease the need for UK government funding in the long-term * provides a long-term, established base for UK - India partnerships and programmes in the Net Zero space, with the potential to expand to other sectors over time * offers a "soft-landing" for UK SMEs interested in the Indian market, and vice versa, linking them to opportunities, collaborators and potential investment * offers links to conduct knowledge exchange between UK and Indian organisations ITES will support innovative UK SMEs in a number of thematic areas, including, but not limited to: * EV charge points * Energy management systems * Hydrogen innovations * Energy storage technologies * Battery management systems For examples of the types of innovators ITES will support please refer to the SME brochure covering ITES's first 19 innovators. es.catapult.org.uk 4 Note these are SMEs currently being supported, but more will be recruited by ITES, potentially in slightly different energy subsectors, as activities progress.
