## Summary

The Staffordshire County Council is currently in the planning stage of a tender for a project titled "Hosted Session Border Controller (SBC): To create a Direct Routing Solution to Microsoft Teams." This initiative falls under the category of data network management and support services and is aimed at the West Midlands region of the United Kingdom. Key dates include the engagement end date, which is set for 19th August 2020. The procurement method involves early market engagement to gauge existing service offerings and their indicative costs, but does not yet indicate a commitment to a formal procurement process.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in hosted session border control services and associated data management solutions. Companies with experience in implementing resilient network services that integrate with Microsoft Teams will find this tender particularly relevant. The Council is inviting economic operators, including SMEs, to participate in the engagement process, allowing them to showcase their capabilities and gain insights into the needs of a public sector buyer, potentially leading to future contract opportunities.

## Notice

Staffordshire County Council (The Council) is seeking assistance from economic operators who have experience in providing Hosted Session Border Control services. The Council wishes to understand how the service would operate, the functions it provides, reporting options, administrations processes, implementation process and guidance on what the indicative costs might be. The Council is considering a service that will allow us to connect our own provisioned SIP trunks (current supplier Gamma) and our Microsoft Teams tenant. The Session Border Control needs to be resilient with 99.5% availability. There will be 220 SIP trunks connected to the SBC for circa 4,500 users. The SBC must be certified by Microsoft for Direct Routing with Microsoft Teams: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/MicrosoftTeams/direct-routing-border-controllers The purpose of this RFI is to help us determine whether such services already exist within the market and to understand the likely cost of such services. Participation in the RFI is without obligation and the Council does not intend to use it to include or exclude any economic operator from any future procurement exercise, should one be undertaken.
