To ensure that everyone within the organisation, as well as those audiences engaging with the Gallery (from the public to stakeholders and funders), has a shared view of what the National Portrait Gallery is and does and what role the Gallery plays. We wish to re-examine and review our founding principles and build upon the strong foundations of the past whilst defining and articulating a new vision for the future. The current brand and visual identity was developed in 2004 and has served the Gallery well but now feels dated, is not flexible for multiple channels and varied audiences and does not adequately reflect the Gallery's current and future ambitions. The redevelopment of the building offers the opportunity to redesign and embed a new brand - including look and feel and tone of voice - into every aspect of the experience from staff welcome to signage and interpretation. Additional information: The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement.
