## Summary

The Nottingham Trent University (NTU) is initiating a pre-procurement market engagement exercise titled "University Planning Processes" to explore solutions for university planning systems. This tender falls under the software package and information systems category, and the engagement activity is currently in the planning stage. Interested parties must submit their responses by 12:00 on 27th August 2021, and potential follow-up workshops are scheduled from 13th September to 24th September 2021. The engagement will take place in Nottingham, East Midlands, United Kingdom.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses, particularly SMEs, that specialise in software solutions related to educational institutions. Companies with capabilities in student, financial, and staffing planning systems, especially those that offer integrated solutions or consultancy services, will find this engagement beneficial. Participants are encouraged to provide innovative ideas and insights to help NTU clarify its requirements and shape any future formal procurement processes.

## Notice

NTU wish to undertake a pre-procurement market engagement exercise before any possible procurement is started, to determine suitable University Planning Process systems, capabilities, and services. The University planning model is key to student, financial and staffing planning. NTU is looking to identify effective solutions for each of three planning models (student, financial and staffing). This could be a suite of solutions that provide effective integration between the three models or one enterprise solution. Any solution(s) should be able to support cross model reporting and analysis. In the first instance we would ask that as much information as possible is given in response to our strategic aims and functionality requirements as defined in this document. Following assessment of responses from consultancies or software suppliers, we may ask that solutions be demonstrated in a workshop session. This exercise is aimed at making informed decisions surrounding future solutions and services as part of pre-procurement planning and is an essential step before deciding whether to initiate a full project leading to procurement. We will therefore also be looking at supplier and technology capabilities, opportunities to deliver and estimated costs for full and partial solutions. At this stage we will not be formally assessing proposals, so nothing provided at this stage will be evaluated as part of any future procurement process. We welcome responses from organisations who feel that they have ideas on how our vision can be delivered, and comment on the extent to which our requirements are reasonable, realistic, and properly specified. If you feel your organisation can contribute to this exercise, please email Alexei Lambley-Steel to request a document containing further details. Please provide responses to the questions in the document and return it via email to alexei.lambley-steel@ntu.ac.uk no later than 12.00 on Friday 27th August 2021. Following receipt of the responses, and depending on the information obtained, we may invite a selection of respondents to attend separate workshop sessions to present and discuss their responses between Monday 13th September 2021 and Friday 24th September 2021. Organisations not attending a session will not be disadvantaged in any future procurement, as this pre-procurement market engagement is only and exploratory, fact-finding exercise: it is not an invitation to tender or a request for formal expression of interest. Any supplier invited to present or provide information to NTU is doing so to support pre-procurement market research only, to help make any future procurement more focussed and efficient, and to clarify NTU's requirements. The expected formal procurement process will start only after completion of this pre-procurement market engagement or soft market testing exercise. Please apply to the buyer using the contact details in this notice.
