LFRS are intending to appoint a Service Provider who will provide a reliable, efficient, auditable and cost effective clinical governance arrangement. LFRS staffs 39 fire stations, plus a Service Headquarters (SHQ) site in Preston and a Service Training Centre (STC) in Chorley. This equates to approximately 900 operational staff and 100 non-operational staff. The appointed Service Provider will be expected to provide an innovative approach to clinical governance utilising new technologies and equipment where appropriate, providing benefits and making recommendations on how existing arrangements can be improved to achieve best standards, cost savings and efficiencies. The procurement exercise will be managed via the procurement portal (www.supply4nwfire.org.uk). Hard copy submissions will not be accepted and all correspondence must be via the portal.
