## Summary

The UK Ministry of Defence has recently awarded a contract titled "LCMR Q-49 Support" for the in-service support of the Army's Q-49 Lightweight Counter Mortar Radar systems. This procurement process, classified under the CPV category of repair and maintenance services for security and defence materials, utilised a limited negotiated procedure as per Regulation 16 of the Defence and Security Public Contract Regulations 2011. The contract commences on 1 December 2021 and has a set duration of four years, with options to extend for two additional years, concluding potentially in 2027. The total contract value is £6,416,483, with delivery required across various regions including the North East, West Midlands, and South West of the United Kingdom.

This contract presents substantial opportunities for businesses involved in defence and maintenance services, particularly those with capabilities in support and repair of advanced military technologies. Companies with experience in radar systems, as well as those that specialise in defence logistics and engineering support, would be well-placed to leverage this contract's requirements. The sustained nature of the contract also creates avenues for long-term partnerships and contracts within the defence sector, which can significantly contribute to business growth.
