## Summary

The procurement process is being led by the Defra Network eTendering Portal, focusing on a project titled "Expression of Interest for Revisiting oestrogenic effects in wild fish: assessing and comparing contemporary and historical impacts." This initiative falls under the research and development services industry category and is located in Bristol, England. Currently in the planning stage, the process began with a notice published on 25th May 2017, with a future notice set for 6th June 2017. Interested suppliers should note that the work is expected to start on 1st September 2017 and must be completed by 31st August 2018, necessitating access to historical data held by associated institutions.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in environmental research, biological studies, or fisheries consultancy, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Companies that can access the requisite reports and data, possess expertise in fish survey methodologies, and demonstrate the ability to conduct comprehensive assessments of oestrogenic effects in fish populations will be well-suited to compete. The scope for delivering a full programme of works by the deadline at the end of March 2018 adds time-sensitive prospects for those ready to engage with this essential investigation.

## Notice

The Environment Agency is proposing to undertake an investigation of sufficient size and scope to robustly investigate current levels of intersex and other oestrogenic effects in wild fish populations. This new study would seek to replicate the sampling approach and procedures from the initial studies and compare the results to the historical data (owned by Brunel/Exeter University). A supplier looking to bid for the work will need to have access to the reports and data in full. Interested parties must be able to deliver the full programme of works, including the project report, by the end of March 2018. They must meet all the skills criteria set out in the expression of interest document, available on the Bravo Solutions Portal; and be able to provide expert technical advice to inform the planning and implementation of a fish survey programme to effectively investigate contemporary levels of sexual disruption AND be able to compare them to historical data. Additional information: Please register on the Bravo Portal to express an interest in this requirement
