This initiative falls under the "Other community, social and personal services" industry category and has a total contract value of £7,500,000. The contract period spans from 1st April 2022 to 31st March 2027, while the procurement method employed is an open procedure. This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses, particularly those specialising in community care, social services, and support infrastructure that can enhance the independence of individuals in care. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) are well-suited to compete, especially those with a focus on ethical care provision and community collaboration. Businesses capable of delivering personalised, flexible support that aligns with the principles of maintaining health and wellbeing will be particularly attractive to the contracting authority.

## Notice

Extra Care provides support to enable people to live as independently as possible, including help with day to day living, through direct support, assistive technology equipment and adaptations that can help to make life easier, maintain independence and health and wellbeing. This wellbeing model builds on the assets of residents and people in the local community to create a home for life for residents, providing care in line with the principles of "just enough support" to enable them to live the best lives they can, deferring or avoiding the need for hospital admissions or a move to more traditional residential care settings. Caring and compassionate support is provided by local ethical care providers who are passionate and dedicated to working in an asset-based way ensuring individuals live the life they choose and can fulfil their aims and ambitions. We want to work with providers who are experts at proactively maximising community connections; developing relationships; ensuring access to leisure and culture; promoting good health and wellbeing; supporting individuals into volunteering opportunities; and developing people's confidence and independence. To achieve a transformed model of Extra Care the successful provider will be required to work holistically with individuals to ensure just enough support which is personalised, flexible and responsive. The service(s) will be delivered from one or more of seven Schemes within the Borough.
