## Summary

The National Museum of the Royal Navy is seeking professional services for the "LCT 7074 Professional Services ITT Exhibition & Interpretation Designer" project, aimed at conserving and showcasing the historic LCT 7074 ship in Portsmouth, England. This project falls under the services category of museum-exhibition services and is currently in the Award stage, with the contract awarded to Petrichor Associates. The contract period spans from February 9, 2018, to March 11, 2019, with a total value of £102,570. The tender was completed on December 8, 2017, and represents a significant engagement opportunity for the local community, potentially reaching 4.5 million annual users.

This tender represents a promising opportunity for businesses involved in museum exhibition services, particularly for companies specialising in interpretation design and conservation. Small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) would be particularly well-suited to compete, as they can bring innovative ideas and specialised skills to the project. Engaging in such initiatives can enhance their portfolio and reputation while contributing to cultural heritage activities that foster community engagement in Portsmouth and beyond.

## Notice

The 350 Ton ship LCT 7074 is the only surviving Landing Craft (Tank) from D-Day, and one of only three in the world. LCTs were built crudely and quickly to carry tanks and put them ashore - 7074 took 10 to Normandy on 6 June 1944. This visionary project will secure a sustainable future for this exceptional survivor, completing the conservation that began with salvage in 2014, and showcasing her outside, alongside the new D-Day Museum - NMRN's project partners. This puts 7074 in the city's heart, engaging a potential 4.5 million annual users of Southsea Common with the story of the ship and her people; it puts her D-Day story - which uniquely links sea and land - in context for Museum visitors. The project will create unique activity opportunities in Portsmouth and beyond, train apprentices and volunteers in practical conservation, and create a unique future venue. An interpretation designer will be appointed to design the interpretation scheme. The interpretation designer will be expected to liaise with the other teams regarding the co-ordination of design elements.
