The Authority will use the NEC3 Engineering and Construction Contract for this work. The objective of the Authority is to deliver the following outcomes: * Increase capacity of the existing Dunball Roundabout, which will contribute towards the release of both Employment and Residential Developments in the wider Bridgwater area * Provision of additional facilities for non motorised users along the A38 corridor * Construction to be undertaken with least possible disruption to travelling public, and adjacent frontages, whilst still being undertaken with the highest priority being given to Health & Safety. Whilst the Authority is planning on entering into contract for the proposed work at Junction 23, there is also a desire by the Authority include the option of additional highway work in relation to the A38 MRN corridor within Somerset, which may include the following: * Major highway and capacity improvement works at Edithmead Roundabout near Junction 22 of the M5. * Junction improvements at Cross. * An improved crossing at the A38 Strawberry Line crossing on Shute Shelve.
