## Summary

The NHS Birmingham and Solihull Clinical Commissioning Group is undertaking a procurement process for the digitisation of Lloyd George medical records across its GP practices. The project is classified under services and aims to improve the management of important medical records, currently in deteriorating paper format. The procurement is at the award stage, with a total contract value of approximately £2,778,432.65, awarded on 1st September 2020. The contract period extends from 1st September 2020 to 31st August 2023. Interested providers must register on the e-procurement system by 13th January 2020 to participate, as the procurement method followed is a selective procedure due to its magnitude. The services will be executed across West Midlands, England.

This tender presents significant growth opportunities, particularly for businesses specialising in document management, scanning services, and records preservation. The digitisation of medical records is essential for enhancing operational efficiency within healthcare and would benefit organisations equipped to navigate the technical complexities and compliance requirements of the NHS frameworks. Small and medium-sized enterprises with expertise in health service support are encouraged to compete, given the project's suitability for SMEs. The phased approach of this project also indicates a structured engagement with potential suppliers over time, allowing businesses to establish successful partnerships within the healthcare sector.
