## Summary

The Department for Work and Pensions has completed the procurement process for the "Restart Scheme (Updated)," aimed at providing enhanced job support to Universal Credit and Jobseekers Allowance claimants in England who have been unemployed for six months or more. This scheme falls under the Education and Training services category, and requires collaboration with employers, local government, and other partners. The programme extends from the tender period ending in March 2001, with contract execution spanning from April 2001 to July 2029. This procurement utilised a selective method via a call-off from a framework agreement, culminating in an active award published on 24 July 2026, with an awarded contract value of approximately £2.57 billion.

This tender offers significant opportunities for businesses specialising in employment support and training services, particularly small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and large-scale operations. Companies with expertise in handling complex, large-scale governmental contracts with a focus on breaking employment barriers will find this initiative especially fitting. Engaging in this scheme allows suppliers to not only build a strong portfolio in public sector contracts but also significantly impact community welfare by aiding unemployed individuals return to the workforce. This could also pave the way for strategic partnerships with key stakeholders in the UK employment sector.
