## Notice

Reading Borough Council is seeking an experienced contractor to enter into a contract with to carry out surfacing works on various areas of carriageway within the Highway Network as part of the Council's annual highways maintenance programme. The areas have been selected by a scanner process and routine visual inspections. A core programme of works has been identified, along with a further list of reserve schemes that may be completed by the successful contractor, subject to funding. The Contractor will be required to undertake the following main elements of work: - * Weed killing in advance of the works * Removal of road markings as required by the process. * Sweeping of carriageway, removal of vegetation and preparing to lay surfacing. * Laying of Micro Asphalt or equivalent proprietary surfacing material including regulating. * Jetting and cleaning of gullies. * Raising existing ironwork to new levels. * Reinstatement of existing road markings with minor alterations as specified by the Council. * Management of pedestrian and vehicular traffic including road closures with diversion routes. The contract value is expected to be in the region of PS150k - PS250k Additional information: The procurement exercise will be conducted in accordance with the information contained in the procurement documents. The contracting authority does not bind itself to enter into any contract as a result of the publication of this notice and will not, under any circumstances, have any liability for any costs any person responding to this notice incurs in any part of the tender process. The services are to be procured under an open procedure and organisations interested in expressing an interest should download the procurement documents which are available on the Council's e-tendering system at: https://in-tendhost.co.uk/readingbc (Project Reference No. RBC 00000277 refers), and complete as instructed.
