## Summary

Newcastle University is currently seeking tenders for the supply and installation of Hotcells, essential for the development of an innovative clinical PET imaging programme. This procurement process falls under the category of laboratory, optical and precision equipment, with a budget of £450,000. The tender is set to conclude on 9th May 2019, with the contract's commencement date planned for 23rd May 2019 and lasting until 1st June 2023. The procurement method used is an open procedure, aiming to facilitate competitive bidding from a diverse range of suppliers.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses in the medical and laboratory equipment sectors, particularly those specialising in radiochemistry or related technologies. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are encouraged to participate, as the contracting authority is open to a variety of suppliers. Potential bidders who can demonstrate expertise in the production and supply of advanced laboratory equipment, particularly those with a focus on regulatory compliance such as EU-GMP, would be especially well-suited to submit a proposal.

## Notice

As a member of the UK Dementia Platform network, Newcastle University has been expanding its capability in radiochemistry using a GE 3T combined PET-MRI system. To support the development of Phase II plans, Synthesis and Dispensing Hotcells are required so that an innovative clinical PET imaging programme can begin. Synthesis hotcells will house automated radiochemistry platforms necessary for the production of radiopharmaceuticals, while the Dispensing Hotcell will house a formulation/fractionation dispenser. This development will lead to the production of a range of fluorine-based radiopharmaceuticals that meet the requirements of EU-GMP, and can be administered to patients.
