## Summary

The University of Essex is undertaking a selective tender process for its 'Mechanical and Electrical Framework' project, with an estimated total maximum value of £3.3 million over a potential contract period extending up to 3 years. This framework aims to support minor works and services in mechanical and electrical installations across its Colchester campus, with key activities commencing from January 1, 2018, and concluding by December 31, 2019. Notably, expressions of interest were requested before the tender period ended on December 31, 2017, and the selected contractors will be expected to comply with strict accreditation requirements in line with the relevant industry standards.

This procurement opportunity offers significant potential for small to medium enterprises (SMEs) and contractors specialised in mechanical and electrical services. Businesses that possess the required accreditations, such as those registered with the NICEIC or equivalent, and have experience in delivering minor works and urgent repairs will be particularly well-suited to compete for this contract. Engaging with this framework can not only enhance their portfolio but also foster long-term relationships with the University of Essex as an ongoing client.
