Lack of equitable access tofamily planning (FP) information and services contribute to these rates. The Government of Uganda (GoU) and partners developed the Family Planning Costed Implementation Plan(FP-CIP), which DFID through the RISE programme, will support to accelerate the uptake of contraception andreduce the negative health, social and economic consequences of high fertility rates. RISE will support a robust Social Behavior Change Communication to increase demand and linkage to qualityFP services, and will also focus on creating an enabling policy environment, which coupled with support tostrengthening the health system will foster sustainability of results beyond the life of the programme.
