## Notice

The council has multiple businesses intelligence reporting systems in different service areas, each using their own datasets and tools. In early 2016 an executive decision was made to unite the business intelligence teams into one council wide function called Business Intelligence and Insight (BI&I). With the aim of pooling our skills and tools together to provide a better, more insightful service to our colleagues and residents. This project is looking to strengthen and improve our reporting capability by making data available across the council and building on our current use of Business Objects to use a cross council reporting tool. Aims The council wants to improve its Business Intelligence and Insight reporting capability to: Create improved reporting visualisations to aid the interpretation and understanding of what is being reported, whilst providing drill-down capability to enable issues to be cut in different ways or for raw data to be seen to help enable actions from the information Automate reporting so that BII staff capacity is not tied up with routine tasks, whist helping officers to self-serve accessing reports and information directly themselves Make data from across the council available for reporting across the function, so that data availability is not restricted to specific teams and to those who have specific systems To strengthen the councils performance framework by enabling performance reporting to be integrated across the council and to manage future performance by strengthening how day to day performance is managed
