This supply is critical to the prison service who currently feed over 75,000 prisoners as well as prison staff and visitors, with estimates to increase over 85,000 during the life of the contract. The Contractor must be able to provide a core range of bread products and have the ability to deliver products on a national basis. Products must also comply with all relevant food safety legislation. The number and location of prisons to which the Contractor shall be required to deliver may change to include additional prison sites as a result of the closure of some existing facilities and opening of new facilities. The anticipated term of the contract will be 4 years from service commencement date with the option to extend (in accordance with the terms of the contract and at the Authority's discretion) for a period of 1 + 1 years.
