The key objectives of this project are to sample and analyse these plastics to: * Provide evidence on whether plastic in lead acid batteries contain POPs * Provide an initial estimate of the proportion of plastics removed from batteries that contain brominated flame retardants, and the levels they contain, using X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) scanning * Provide an analysis of plastics identified as containing bromine by XRF, to determine which BFRs are present, including any that are POPs. Analysis of other chemicals of concern (for example Dechlorane Plus and UV-328) should be considered to maximise sampling and analysis effort. Additional information: To apply the following 2 step process is to be followed: 1. Send email notification of participation to sam.lusted@environment-agency.gov.uk no later than 29th September 2022 and you will be sent an invite to register on the Authority's eMarketplace Solution. Formal registration is not required and you may proceed using a guest account. 2.
