Ideal measures of public service output (including children's social care output) use a system of direct indicators, following the System of National Accounts 2008 and the Atkinson Review (2005). This work will contribute to improved measures of output and productivity of the public sector in the UK. Objectives: The aim of the project is to identify data sources and develop methods to measure the output of children's social care directly. It is estimated that the work should take no more than 30 days between February 2020 and June 2020. Delivery of an interim report must be made by 31st March 2020. Delivery of the final report must be achieved by 30th June 2020. We anticipate that the tender will be published mid-January with a proposal return deadline of end of January, ONS are looking to enter into a contract with a supplier in February.
