The role of the lead drafter will include: i. Leading on writing the guidance, confirming the content under the guidance of an expert panel and providing draft text in a timely way so that the guidance is agreed and published within set timescales; ii. Attending approximately 5 online panel meetings over a 12-month period; iii. Reflecting the comments of the expert panel in your drafting; iv. Producing a finalised guidance document within a specific timeframe. The role of the advisory panel will include: i. Engaging with the sector on what is the best means of approaching the guidance; ii. Attending approximately 5 online panel meetings over a 12-month period; iii. Making suggestions for content, commenting on draft iterations of the guidance document and collating relevant information; iv. Discerning good practice for incorporation into written guidance; The lead drafter and advisory panel will produce a document that seeks to improve transition between Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3, benchmarking expected attainment levels, and assisting, in the longer term, in improving the uptake of languages at GCSE level and beyond. The non-statutory guidance is due to be published in late 2023. There are two EOI Response Forms relevant to each of the roles.
