## Summary

The procurement process concerns the "RDP Major Civil Works" project, being undertaken by Sellafield, operating under the Nuclear Waste Services (NWS) division. This major civil engineering initiative aims to ensure long-term environmental protection at the LLW Repository facility located near Drigg Village in Cumbria, England. Currently in the planning stage, the anticipated value of this tender is between £140 million and £180 million, with an expected duration of 8 to 10 years. Interested parties must confirm their participation by 7th March 2022, preceding a virtual Market Engagement Event on 25th March 2022, where further information will be provided.

This tender presents significant opportunities for construction and engineering firms, particularly those specialising in large-scale civil works, environmental services, and related logistics. Businesses that can offer innovative solutions, project management capabilities, and collaboration expertise will be well-positioned to compete effectively. The engagement with the market ahead of the contract signifies an intent to foster partnerships, making this a favourable prospect for SMEs aiming to expand their portfolio in public sector projects related to nuclear waste management and environmental safety.

## Notice

Nuclear Waste Services (NWS) is a joint trading name of both LLW Repository Limited (LLWR) and Radioactive Waste Management Limited (RWM). NWS is a division of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) which includes RWM and LLWR. NWS is not a legal entity but provides strategic oversight over the operation and development of these businesses through a management board governance structure. Further information on NWS can be found at https://www.gov.uk/government/organisations/nuclear-waste-services/about NWS is proceeding with a significant civil engineering project to fill and make safe a waste disposal area for the long-term environmental protection. This project is based at the LLW Repository facility near Drigg Village in Cumbria, England. Further information is contained within the Project Brief which can be accessed via the Documents area of the CTM eSourcing system. To facilitate a successful outcome for this project there is a requirement to engage a Main Contractor to collaborate with NWS in delivering the scope. The estimated value of the works is between PS140 and PS180 million and is anticipated to take between 8 and 10 years. As a key aspect of achieving this, NWS is looking to provide the market with information about, and seek feedback on, the technical, logistics and commercial aspects of the project. To do so a Market Engagement Event will be held in a virtual forum (expected to be Microsoft Teams) on 22nd March 2022, at which information will be shared and feedback will be requested. If this opportunity may be of interest to your organisation, please provide a response confirming this via a CTM message by 7th March 2022 along with proposed attendee names and contact details. Additional information: LLW Repository (LLWR) Ltd, trading as Nuclear Waste Services, is looking to engage with the market ahead of a potential PS140M to PS180M contract opportunity for the Repository Development Programme (RDP) Major Civil Works. A virtual Market Engagement Event is Planned for 25th of March 2022. See Section II.2.4 - Description of the Procurement and the associated attachment for more details of how to register your interest before the deadline of 7th March 2022. Bidders should note that this PIN does not constitute any guarantee of work and is issued purely for market research purposes.
