## Summary

The Arts Council England is inviting tenders for the project titled "Tone and Language Guidelines - Museum Accreditation". This procurement falls under the marketing services industry category and is located in the United Kingdom. The tender period is open until 29 January 2018, with a total estimated contract value of £20,000. The project aims to develop guidelines that reflect a modern approach to communication within the museum accreditation context, which has been in effect for nearly 30 years. The contract is set to commence on 9 February 2018 and conclude on 9 May 2018.

This tender presents an excellent opportunity for businesses specialised in marketing and communications to expand their portfolio and client base in the cultural sector. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) are particularly well-suited for this bid, given the emphasis on creating brand and style guidelines relevant for the 21st century. This project will not only enable participating companies to contribute to an important national scheme but will also allow them to demonstrate their capability in enhancing client engagement within the museum sector.

## Notice

The UK Partnership are currently undertaking a review of Accreditation. Museum Accreditation is a national baseline Standard awarded to museums which fulfil the relevant criteria in areas of governance, collections management and public access. The Scheme, which will be 30 years old in 2018, was originally developed by the museum sector, who still feel a sense of ownership of it. An ongoing review has identified that tone of language in all aspects of the Scheme is an important issue. Correspondence with museums and the language used within the Standard and guidelines need addressing in order to accurately reflect the relationship with applicants. We would like to commission a company or individual to create brand/style guidelines for the refreshed Scheme, making it appropriate for museums and relevant for the 21st Century.
