## Summary

The procurement process is initiated by Sellafield, focusing on the "Supplier Day for new Decommissioning & Asbestos Removal (DAR) framework". This framework contract, worth up to £485 million, revolves around the decommissioning and asbestos removal services across Magnox's 12 sites in the UK. Currently at the planning stage, the key engagement milestone is set for 28th May 2021, when suppliers can submit feedback and interest in participating in the framework. A webinar scheduled for 21st April 2021 will provide suppliers with insights into the contracting process, allowing them to align their proposals with the needs of the buying organisation and marketplace.

This tender presents significant growth opportunities for businesses involved in construction, demolition, environmental services, and asbestos removal. Companies, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), that specialise in decommissioning, waste analysis, and environmental decontamination would be well-positioned to compete for this framework. Engaging in this process not only allows businesses to contribute to the critical decommissioning mission but also to provide value for the UK taxpayer while upholding high standards of safety and environmental performance.
