## Summary

The City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council is initiating an open tender for the "Tender for Bradford and Airedale Community Equipment Service (BACES) IT." This procurement is categorised under software-related services and aims to secure a modern IT system for the Community Equipment Service, which supports over half a million residents in the Yorkshire and the Humber region. The tender period is set to conclude on 22 February 2018, with the contract expected to commence on 1 April 2018 and run for an initial duration of five years, including potential extensions. The estimated budget for this project is £100,000.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) with experience in software development and integration. Businesses capable of delivering a comprehensive, paperless IT solution that enhances real-time updates and inventory management would be particularly well-suited to compete. As BACES currently seeks to upgrade its outdated system, mentioned capabilities in modernising processes and enhancing operational efficiency could lead to growth and long-term partnership opportunities with the Council.

The Service currently operates on part software, part paper processes, the Service seeks to overcome the disadvantages of using a part paper based system by moving to a paperless system with real-time updates, hand held technology for the delivery processes and the barcode scanning of inventory assets both in the warehouse and in the community.
