## Summary

The Ministry of Defence (MOD) has awarded a framework contract for Maritime Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) services to support the Royal Navy. This process, falling under the industry category of "Repair and maintenance services of warships," includes the Power, Propulsion and Auxiliaires (PPA) Team from the ships operating centre within Defence Equipment Support (DES). The procurement was conducted using a selective method, under the DSPCR 2011 regulations. Call-Off contracts have been awarded to sixteen suppliers through mini-competitions, with the framework running until 31 March 2031 and having a maximum value of £317 million. The recent award concerns marine transmissions, steering, and stabiliser items, starting from 9 December 2024 and ending on 28 February 2025. The framework covers delivery locations such as British Oversea Territories, Channel Islands, Europe, Isle of Man, Rest of the World, and United Kingdom.

This awarded contract presents valuable opportunities for businesses within the maritime maintenance and repair industry to engage with MOD projects. With multiple call-off competitions throughout the framework's duration, SMEs and VCSEs have the chance to bid for specific tasks, fostering growth through steady work and partnerships. Large companies such as Scott Aerospace, which has already been named a supplier under this framework, are exemplary of the types of businesses well-suited to participate. The varied delivery locations also present an opportunity for businesses with international capabilities to expand their reach and expertise in servicing warship maintenance and repairs globally.
