## Summary

The public procurement process involves the Welland Procurement Unit, which is seeking to implement an "Assistive Technology Service" aimed at supporting vulnerable residents in Rutland, England. This contract is classified under alarm-monitoring services with a total value of £390,000. The procurement method is an open procedure, and the tender was published on 23rd September 2016, with a tender period that ended on 26th October 2016. The three-year contract is set to commence on 1st April 2017, with the possibility of extension for up to six years in total.

This tender presents excellent opportunities for businesses operating within the assistive technology sector, particularly those that can provide comprehensive services for individuals with diverse needs, including those with disabilities or long-term health conditions. Companies that specialise in telecare monitoring, equipment provision, and maintaining assistive devices will find themselves well-suited to apply for this contract. With the anticipated growth in service demand, businesses engaging in technological innovations that facilitate independence and well-being for vulnerable populations will have significant prospects for expansion.

## Notice

To develop an Assistive Technology Service for vulnerable residents across Rutland. The aim is to provide technological responses to vulnerable people, supporting independence and wellbeing in their own homes, reducing the need for admissions to hospital and residential care, and reducing the level of domiciliary support required. This will be a fully managed service covering all aspects of the Assistive Technology provision in Rutland, from initial assessment of the needs of the individual, provision and installation of necessary equipment, a comprehensive telecare monitoring service, maintenance of equipment, through to removal/disposal of equipment. This is not simply a supply and fit contract. Typical clients will be people at risk of falls and those with long term conditions including dementia. It will also cover people with a physical disability, learning disability, mental health issues, autism, children with disabilities and carers. Typical equipment may include: personal alarms, pressure mats, falls detectors, movement sensors, gas/smoke/temperature detectors, medication prompters, pagers, etc. The three year contract may be extended by up to three periods, each of one year, giving a maximum contract period of six years. The volume of activity is forecast to grow over the term of the contract. Additional information: This service is intended to be a complete and self-contained service for the residents of this small authority, and for that reason a single contractor is required and the tender is not divided into lots.
