## Summary

Wakefield Council is initiating a planning stage for the "Domestic Abuse Services - Early Market Engagement," focusing on community service provisions in the Yorkshire and the Humber region. This process involves a soft market engagement exercise, beginning on 12th August 2024 with an engagement end date of 30th August 2024. This initiative falls under the industry category of community and social services, specifically targeting crisis management, social work, counselling, and community health services. Potential service providers are invited to participate in face-to-face or virtual meetings, scheduled for 18th, 19th, and 20th September 2024, each lasting 60 minutes.

This tender offers significant opportunities for growth, especially for businesses experienced in delivering domestic abuse support services. The Council seeks a diverse range of providers, from large corporate entities to smaller local VCSEs and SMEs. Engaging in this process can provide valuable insights and establish partnerships with the Council, enhancing providers' service portfolios and market presence. Interested businesses should contact Sally Fawcett, Strategic Safer Communities Manager, by 30th August 2024 to express interest and arrange participation. This opportunity is ideal for organisations specialising in crisis support, perpetrator intervention, community support, and safe accommodation.

## Notice

Domestic abuse is one of the most harmful crimes in our communities with far reaching and long-lasting consequences for victims and their families. Wakefield has a strong history of partnership working in this area and the Wakefield Domestic Abuse Strategy however there is still more that can be done to prevent domestic abuse, improve the support and protection for victims and their children, and bring perpetrators to justice. To address these challenges and strengthen our multi-agency approach to domestic abuse we would like engage with provider on how we could improve our offer further via a soft market engagement exercise around a proposed model of delivery.
