The site address is Forge Island, Market Street, Rotherham S60 1QE The scheme forms part of the Rotherham Renaissance Flood Alleviation Scheme (RRFAS) which is a Borough wide scheme designed to reduce fluvial flood risk currently posed to existing infrastructure and planned regeneration in Rotherham Town Centre. The proposed works will cover the installation of sheet pile flood defence walls aligned approximately 8 metres adjacent to the western edge of the canal wall and landscaping along the canal bank to create a high quality, modern waterside destination for Forge Island. Planning permission for this development was granted on 18th December 2018, planning reference RB2018/1750 refers. The above works are due to be phased by RMBC in line with a programme of public realm works. Therefore the successful Tenders will be appointed to undertake the flood defence works and landscaping within the phase 1 works identified within the information pack.
