## Summary

The West Midlands Combined Authority is overseeing the redevelopment of Perry Barr Railway Station, an essential project positioned as a vital transport hub for the Commonwealth Games 2022. This design and build tender aims to enhance the station's operational capacity, passenger experience, and its role as a gateway to the Games. The procurement process employed is selective, with the tender period closing on 27th February 2020 and the contract expected to run from 28th February 2020 to 28th February 2022. The project is classified under CPV code 45213321, focusing on railway station construction work, with delivery slated for the West Midlands region in the United Kingdom.

This redevelopment project presents significant opportunities for construction firms looking to expand their business. Companies specialising in civil engineering works, particularly those experienced in large-scale public infrastructure projects, would be well-suited to compete for this contract. Additionally, the undertaking aligns with businesses aiming to engage in sustainable urban regeneration activities, especially in light of the upcoming Commonwealth Games, which are expected to increase traffic and interest in the area.

## Notice

Design and Build (Grip 4 - Grip 8) for the redevelopment of Perry Barr Railway Station. Perry Barr will be a major gateway for the Commonwealth Games (CWG). It will be the home of the Athletes' Village which will bring visitors from around the world to Perry Barr. The Athletes' Village will be constructed on the former site of Birmingham City University, on the eastern side of the A34, opposite the existing railway station and bus interchange. The current station is not fit for purpose in terms of both operational capacity, passenger experience and status as a gateway to the principal CWG venue. The station needs to be redeveloped to act as a transport hub for the games and as a catalyst for longer term regeneration of the area.
