## Summary

The procurement process is being conducted by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) for the service titled "South East - Local Enterprise Partnership Area." This initiative falls under the education and training services industry category, with a contract value of £9,000,000. The contract period is set to commence from November 21, 2016, and run until November 20, 2019, including a payment tail of 64 weeks. The tender is currently in the Award stage, with the expressed goal of engaging a minimum of 4,500 participants in employment-related provisions across the South East LEP area, which encompasses Essex, Southend, Thurrock, Kent, Medway, and East Sussex. Interested suppliers need to respond before the tender end date of March 10, 2016.

This tender presents significant opportunities for organisations aiming to contribute to the enhancement of employment services within the South East. Businesses, especially Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community and social enterprises (VCSEs), might find this procurement particularly relevant as it seeks providers to facilitate the entry and progression of unemployed adults into sustainable employment. The DWP's preference for a breadth of local engagement and the focus on priority and growth sectors in the region create a favourable environment for service providers specialising in training, career counselling, and workforce development to thrive.

## Notice

The Provider is expected to deliver the Provision across the South East LEP area, which covers a large geographical region covering Essex, Southend, Thurrock, Kent, Medway and East Sussex. The contract value is PS9,000,000 and there is a requirement for a minimum of 4500 Participants to start on this provision. The aim of this Provision is to enable unemployed and inactive adults to enter, progress in and sustain employment by offering them the best possible chance of acquiring skills for employment and progression in work. The LEP would like Providers to introduce Participants to employment and career opportunities in South East LEP area's priority and growth sectors and to help them progress into work in these sectors where possible. The Provider must meet ESF specific requirements set by the European Commission and failure to comply can result in a high financial risk for both the Provider and DWP, as funds used inappropriately or for ineligible Participants or purposes and/or where the ESF requirements have not been met are recoverable from Providers. The Provider will use the Provider Referral and Payment (PRaP) system to receive their referrals and to record claimant activity.
