## Summary

West Berkshire Council is currently in the planning stage for the "Commercialisation of Shaw House" project, aimed at enhancing the commercial potential of Shaw House, a Grade I listed Elizabethan mansion located in Newbury, Berkshire. The procurement process is focused on the industry category of commercial property management services, with additional relevance to event services and preservation services of historical sites and buildings. A preliminary market engagement exercise will be conducted to gauge market interest and gather information on potential commercialisation routes. Interested organisations are invited to an engagement event at Shaw House on 12th March 2025, from 10:00 to 15:00, and must register by 12th March 2025.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses involved in commercial property management, event services, and preservation of historical sites. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) are particularly encouraged to participate. Engaging in this preliminary market exercise will allow businesses to provide input on the viability and investment needs for Shaw House, which could lead to future contracting opportunities. Businesses that specialise in enhancing the commercial potential of heritage properties while preserving their historical value will find this project well-suited to their expertise and services.
