## Summary

The Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council has initiated a tender for the "Homeless Reduction System," aimed at addressing the statutory requirements introduced by the Homeless Reduction Act effective from April 2018. This project falls under the software package and information systems industry, with a contract value of £32,000 and a minimum threshold of £22,500. The procurement method employed is a selective approach, specifically a restricted procedure. The tender period concluded on 27 February 2018, and the contract is set to commence on 1 April 2018, running until 31 March 2021. This system will enhance the Authority's capabilities in managing cases of homelessness and prevention, facilitating customer interactions and internal oversight.

This tender presents significant opportunities for IT service providers, particularly those specialising in software development, case management systems, and customer interface solutions. Businesses that thrive in developing IT solutions that comply with legislative requirements would be well-suited to compete for this contract. Given the Council's focus on improving efficiencies and case handling in the homelessness sector, companies that also offer training and support services to local authorities could find a strong fit, driving growth through public sector partnerships.
