## Summary

The National Maritime Museum in London is currently undertaking a tender process for the project titled "External Redecorations - Queens House (South facade) & SW Wing." This procurement falls under the works category, specifically focusing on buildings of historical or architectural interest. The tender period is set to close on 30th June 2021, with a total contract value of between £50,000 and £100,000. The anticipated contract duration will commence on 17th October 2021 and conclude by 18th November 2021, requiring contractors with considerable experience due to the historical significance of the buildings involved.

This tender presents an excellent opportunity for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) that specialise in restoration and construction work, particularly those with expertise in working on listed historical buildings. Contractors must be adept at handling delicate restoration tasks, including stripping, priming, and coating facades while maintaining the integrity of the heritage site. This project not only offers a chance for local businesses to contribute to the conservation of a significant cultural landmark but also helps in expanding their portfolio in architectural preservation projects.

## Notice

Following significant years of weather deterioration, the Queens House and several exterior facades of the National Maritime Museum require redecoration. This exercise includes only the South face of the Queens House and a minimum of the south face of the SW Wing of the museum. Each element should be priced separately. Works required include, but are not limited to; stripping back existing, making good, priming and coating. Windows to be repainted following potential minor repairs and stone cleaning. Appropriate access/scaffolding will also be required. Additional information: The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement. All buildings within the Royal Museums Greenwich portfolio are of historical interest and Listed, particularly the Queens House which is a Scheduled Ancient Monument. Therefore any contractor working on these buildings must have significant direct experience in this field. Work dates below relate only to the Queens House.
