The open procurement method allows for participation from various suppliers, with the tender period set to conclude on 15th February 2017. The contract is expected to commence on 1st March 2017 and run until 31st March 2020, with a total estimated value of £50,000 for this one-off purchase.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in laboratory, optical, and precision equipment, particularly those that manufacture or supply automatic film processing units. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are encouraged to participate, as the procurement is open to them. Companies that can meet the specifications detailed by PHE, including capabilities in handling a wide range of film sizes and ensuring high workload capacity with automatic chemical replenishment, will be well-positioned to compete for this contract.

## Notice

Public Health England (PHE) seeks to appoint a provider of a Automatic Film Processors. This is one-off purchase, however it is intended that service, support and supply of bespoke consumables (if applicable) will be covered by this agreement for the lifetime of the equipment or until PHE re-tenders the requirement. The current requirement is for the Public Health England's Centre for Radiation Chemical and Environmental Hazards in Leeds. DXPS(r) carries out radiation safety assessments of dental X-ray equipment using a remote test pack system as well as through visits to dental practices by its surveyors. Both these methods involve the use of radiation sensitive films to check the correct collimation and size of X-ray beams. The processing facilities for these films are being refurbished and two automatic processing units being sought. These automatic processing units need to be able to handle a wide range of film sizes at a reasonably high workload. It is therefore particularly important that the processing tanks are large enough to cope with this workload and to assist in assuring that this is not an issue the processors must be fitted with automatic chemical replenishment units Additional information: Should you have any queries or believe that the product you offer meet the specifications, please contact carole.miller@phe.gov.uk.
