## Summary

The Centre for Ecology & Hydrology (UKCEH) is initiating a procurement process for an Asset Management Platform to support their Floods and Droughts Research Infrastructure (FDRI) programme. This procurement is currently in the planning stage, with a Prior Information Notice (PIN) issued to inform potential bidders of the upcoming Request for Proposal (RFP) that is expected within the next 1-12 months. The project is focused on developing IT services, including software package and information systems, situated at Maclean Building, Benson Lane, Wallingford, England. Important dates include the estimated tender publication on 1st May 2025, with the contract award anticipated by 1st August 2025, and implementation starting on 1st September 2025. The process is aimed at ensuring an efficient, scalable system that upholds data integrity and security, including compliance with ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials Plus requirements.

This tender provides a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in IT services, software development, and system integration. Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) may find this particularly advantageous due to the emphasis on scalability and comprehensive asset management. The selected system will need to handle asset and inventory management, maintenance tracking, operational efficiency, and quality assurance, making it ideal for firms with robust solutions in these areas. As the FDRI programme aims to create a nationwide infrastructure for monitoring hydrological conditions, businesses that offer innovative, reliable, and secure asset management systems will be well-suited to compete and potentially establish a long-term partnership with UKCEH.

## Notice

Notice to reader and disclaimer The UK Centre for Ecology and Hydrology is seeking to procure an Asset Management System (AMS) to support the Floods and Droughts Research Infrastructure (FDRI) programme. This platform will enhance the management and maintenance of scientific assets, improve operational efficiency, and ensure the quality and reliability of data collected from field and laboratory equipment. Initially this AMS will be required to support the FDRI project, however, eventually the AMS will be adopted as a company-wide solution, therefore we are looking for a product that can be scalable. This Prior Information Notice (PIN) has been issued to notify the market of the intention to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) in the next 1-12 months. This document is not a call for competition. Any comments, indications of interest, participation, or non-participation by any organisation at this stage will not influence the process, selection and/or award decision for any future possible procurement. Project background The UKCEH is running the FDRI as an innovative long-term programme which, for the first time in the UK, will monitor the whole hydrological system, to improve resilience to floods and droughts. The project will establish a nationwide Floods and Droughts Research Infrastructure, offering near real-time data to the hydrological community. Further information can be found at: https://fdri.org.uk/ Asset Management System key features The following features are provided to give an indication to the market for the likely requirements for the AMS.
