## Summary

The Ministry of Defence is currently in the planning stage for the procurement titled "703692450 MULTI-MODE RADAR (MMR) REQUEST FOR INFORMATION," aimed at gathering market insights regarding MMR solutions for static-site operations. This opportunity is classified under the air defence radar industry category and is set in the East of England, United Kingdom. Interested parties should note that the engagement end date for this request is 30 June 2022, with a market engagement notice published on 14 April 2022 that outlines the information being sought, which includes technological capabilities and estimated pricing for MMR solutions.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses, particularly those specialising in advanced radar technologies, artificial intelligence, and machine learning applications in defence systems. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are particularly encouraged to participate, as the Ministry aims to understand the capabilities of emerging technologies over the next five years. Firms that can provide innovative solutions related to space domain awareness and air surveillance are well-suited to compete and potentially expand their market presence through this engagement.

## Notice

MULTI-MODE RADAR (MMR) REQUEST FOR INFORMATION Description The Authority is seeking market information regarding MMR solutions for static-site operation. The Authority operates many permanent defence radar assets in the United Kingdom and overseas, and therefore, is keen to ensure its knowledge of the respective MMR market is current. Information Requested Information is requested which provides insight into the technologies and solutions available in the next 5 years, for an integrated MMR able to provide a space domain awareness (SDA) capability, conduct air surveillance (AS) in a traditional ground-based air defence role, including surveillance of small air-breathing targets and tactical ballistic missiles (TBM). Respondents are invited to provide information and/or views on the subject, including, for example: a) Potential technologies/solutions, available in the timeframe stated, for the provision of MMR. Their key attributes and applicability to SDA, AS and TBM including levels of technology readiness. Use of any innovative methods such as artificial intelligence or machine learning. b) Description of SDA capabilities for low Earth orbit coverage. c) Ability to detect and track cooperative and non-cooperative objects. d) Approaches to mitigating the effects of wind turbines. e) Service-life (years) and anticipated maintenance requirements. f) Product availability, manufacturing lead times and any supply chain constraints. Goods handling, logistical and/or licence/export considerations. g) Indicative budgetary price ranges for the various MMR solutions. Additional information would also be appreciated, regarding: a) Environmental impact considerations such as carbon footprint, supply chains, manufacturing, materials disposal at end of life. b) Future technology trends in the near and longer (5 year +) term and how MMR technology might contribute to Space traffic management in the future.
